Before you call —
How do I book a cabin or camper?
Submit the inquiry form on /cabins/inquire, call or text (605) 838-7953, or email lodging@hillsideresort.com. We'll confirm availability and lock your dates — usually the same day. No auto-charges; deposit only after you say yes.
What's the difference between the cabins and the campers?
Cabins are dry — bunk beds, A/C, no indoor plumbing (you use the 24/7 bathhouse with private showers). Loft Cabin from $150/night, Bunkhouses from $125. Beachfront campers are travel trailers with full kitchens, queen masters, and private bathrooms — but every camper is off the board for the 2026 season, so cabins and RV sites are what's open right now.
Do all rentals come with a golf cart?
Every cabin and camper booking includes a free golf cart for the duration of your stay. RV sites do not — but the marina, restaurants, and Sea Store are all within walking distance.
Are pets allowed?
Campers and RV sites are pet-friendly. Cabins are not at this time. Dogs on leash on the property; please clean up. Campers: $50 per pet, per stay, max 2 pets. RV sites: no pet fee.
When is the marina open?
Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, daily 10am–8pm, boats back by the 8pm close. The BluMana runs sunset cruises and private charters throughout the season.
What's your check-in / check-out?
Cabins + campers: check-in 3pm, check-out 11am. Early check-in based on housekeeping schedule — ask when you book. RV sites: check-in anytime, check-out by noon.
Do you take walk-ins at the restaurants?
Downstairs (the Basement Bar): always walk-in, no reservations needed. Upstairs dining room: walk-ins welcome any time. Planning a large party? Give us a few days' notice at (605) 256-9558 and we'll get you set up. Same kitchen, two menus, two vibes.
Is there a minimum stay?
Two nights on summer weekends (Fri–Sun). One night otherwise. Three-night minimum on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends.
Are there long-stay discounts?
Yes — Stay & Save auto-applies on cabin and camper bookings: 10% off 7+ nights, 25% off 14+, 50% off 30+.
How far is the property from Sioux Falls?
45 miles — about a 45-minute drive from Sioux Falls. We're 9 miles southeast of Madison.
What's the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 5 days before check-in — full refund. Cancel within 5 days of arrival and you're refunded 50% of the nights you don't stay. Your 1-night deposit always applies to your total.
What's at the Sea Store across the street?
A quick stop for everything you need — groceries, beer, bait, fuel, propane, ATM, ice. South Dakota video lottery on-site. Soft-serve cones. Lake-branded apparel. The store and the resort are under one umbrella. Own line: (605) 929-5507. Open early (peak season): Sun 8a–9p, Mon–Sat 7a–9p.
