Why Hillside

The lake cabin closer than you thought.

REASON 01

Closer than any 'real' lake cabin

Closest lake-cabin property to Sioux Falls. 45 minutes door-to-dock. Okoboji's three hours. The Black Hills are five. You leave after lunch, you're floating by sundown.

REASON 02

Four ways to stay, four budgets

Lakeside Cabin (sleeps 4, our largest), bunkhouses (dry cabins, shared bathhouse), beachfront campers (5 named units), full-hookup RV pads. From $125/night. Most rentals include a golf cart.

REASON 03

Don't have to drive in for dinner

The Steakhouse, Hemingway's, BluCabana, and the Sea Store are all on the property. No 30-minute drive into town for a beer and a steak. Walk down to the dock with a drink. Stay until the loons start.

REASON 04

Year-round — and not just summer

Summer is loud + busy. Fall is steaks + quiet docks. Winter is ice fishing + fireplace dinners. Spring is the loons returning. Off-season cabin rates drop materially. Most cabins are pet-friendly.

Questions

The things people ask first.

What's the drive from Sioux Falls?
45 minutes door-to-dock. North on 26th Ave through downtown, then 22nd Ave / 230th Ave into Madison. Same route the locals take — it doesn't go through any rough patches.
Are cabins pet-friendly?
Most are. Each unit has its own policy — check the listing or call (605) 838-7953 with your pet details. Long Lake's no-wake side is great for dogs swimming.
What's the difference between cabins, bunkhouses, and campers?
Cabins are the most polished — vaulted ceilings, full kitchen, fire pit. Bunkhouses are dry cabins with shared bathhouse — cheaper, more rustic. Campers are 5 individually-named furnished trailers right at the beach — middle of the range. RV pads are bring-your-own with full hookups.
Can I see availability + book online?
We're moving lodging to direct online booking this season — for now, send a quick inquiry through the form linked below and Yesi will confirm availability + a quote within 24 hours.
What's there to do once we're here?
Four restaurants/bars on property + the marina with full fleet + two lakes (Long Lake calm, Lake Madison fast) + the Sea Store across the street. Most days you don't need to leave the property.
